Description Paragraph
A description paragraph is a type of paragraph in which we describe a person or a place or things.
Features of a Description Paragraph
A description paragraph uses words that appeal to our senses.It does not include any action.
In description paragraph, we describe the subject from front to back, right to left.Sometimes we describe it from east to west, top to bottom or in some spatial arrangement.
There is no hard and fast rules as to the length of a description paragraph.It may consist of one or two sentence or it may sometimes be long enough to contain fifteen or twenty sentences.
Like other paragraph, it has a topic sentence, the body and the terminator. The topic sentence focuses on the topic. The body provides necessary details to support the topic sentence.
Finally a satisfactory sentence concludes the paragraph. Some transational word is used in this type of paragraphs. They are above, below, in front, in back, opposite, nearby etc.

A tea stall
A tea stall is a familiar site in Bangladesh. It is a favourite haunt for all kinds of people. It is found in towns as well as in village markets. In a town it is usually situated by the side of narrow streets on footpaths or roads. The appearance of the stall has something in common. The shopkeeper sits at a table or on a chouki. Around him there are shelves in which there are jars(boiums) of biscuits, chanachur, buns, or other snacks. In front of the shop, bunches of bananas are kept hanging on pieces of strings. A “boy’ prepared tea on the oven which has either coal or twigs as fuel. The kettle is always on the oven, and water boils in it. Cups are kept on the table nearby,and a small pot of water for washing the cups and saucers. There are benches inside the shop room, and some benches are also outside it. Customer sit on the benches and order tea, and sometimes some tea things like biscuits, chanachur, buns, or other snacks. Almost all kinds of people are found at a tea stall. A tired rickshaw puller gets off his paddling seat, and has a quick cup of tea. Even educated people, rich businessmen , have no time to look for a better place for tea. Sometimes gossip-mongers haunt the place, and engage in gossips. The tea stall remains busy from early morning till the late night.
